Warranty

All 2012/2013 StepChild Snowboards are covered by our:

Two-Year Manufacturers Warranty

Boards must be purchased through an Authorized StepChild dealer and be accompanied by a sales receipt to remain valid.

The StepChild 2-year Manufacturers Warranty covers defects in materials and overall craftsmanship of the product. It does not cover the normal wear and tear of Snowboard use, badly stored or any damage caused by impact or riding things other than snow.

Please keep your receipt handy when purchasing a StepChild Snowboard, this is not only your proof of purchase but will indicate your date of purchase which is important information for us to verify whether your warranty is still valid.

StepChild Snowboards purchased from unauthorized dealers, eBay, craigslist and close-out sales (where receipts are not given) will not be valid for warranty.

If your StepChild Snowboard is damaged and you think it is a manufacturers defect then your first point of call should be the retailer you purchased it from or your closest StepChild dealer (see dealer list for locations). Our dealers are well educated on snowboard damage and common defects and can determine the next course of action. They will work directly with our warranty department to obtain an RA (RETURN AUTHORIZATION) and have the board sent back to us for further inspection (There may be a shipping fee involved but all costs to ship the board or a replacement back to the retailer are covered by StepChild Snowboards). *Please note, warranty inspections can take up to Three weeks (especially during peak season) after which time a decision will be made and either the retailer or yourself will be told what the Warranty team has decided.

If you purchased your board from an online dealer who is not setup to deal with warranty boards or if you have questions about the damage on your board, please use our contact page to send details of your warranty claim and photos.

ALL WARRANTIES SENT TO STEPCHILD MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A SALES RECEIPT AND A RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER. ANY SENT WITHOUT THIS INFORMATION WILL NOT BE FOLLOWED UP ON AND YOU RISK LOSING YOUR WOOD DOWN A DEEP DARK HOLE.

*Note – Our ‘Street Recession’ Model is not covered by the ‘Two year warranty against manufacturer’s defect’ warranty due to the nature of the construction of this model. This board has no rails, it’s designed to get beat up but it probably won’t last forever, look at the price tag people! We will honor any craftsmanship warranties on this board.

Many thanks and take care of your wood!
